Christian Counselling and Training Service

Counselling & Training Service provides accredited training courses in counselling. Also a confidential counselling service which is open to all: male, female, young, old, individuals or couples, people of any or no faith.

They are all professionally accredited counsellors, supervisors and trainers who work within a professional code of ethics. Each member of the team is a Christian from a local or regional church. They also have a number of guest trainers and counsellors who are also professionally trained. They will not impose their faith on anyone who comes to the service.

Life Changes Counselling

Short term, low-cost, face-to- face counselling offering you time and space to try and understand changes, anxieties, feelings, thoughts and issues that may be troubling you, and to find ways to move forward. £5/hr sessions available for carers on benefits.

Steps2Wellbeing

The Steps to Wellbeing Service is a free, confidential NHS service for to people aged 18+. We provide a service in Southampton for people registered at a Southampton GP surgery.

We offer a range of treatments for people experiencing mild to moderate depression and anxiety disorders. Some of the problems people might access our service for include:

• Depression and low mood

• Problems with anxiety (including Social Anxiety and Generalised Anxiety)

• Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

• Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

• Specific Phobia

• Panic Disorder

• Stress

The treatments we provide are all evidence based which means that there is a substantial body of research to show that the treatments provided work. We provide support either over the telephone, face-to-face, in groups or via the internet. This ensures that our services are as accessible as possible.

We are a self-referral service which means you can contact us directly to access our services. We also accept referrals from GPs and other healthcare professionals.

If you have any questions regarding your suitability for the Service please do not hesitate to contact the admin team to discuss your referral. We can direct you to the most suitable service if this is not ours.

Yellow Door

(Previously Southampton Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Counselling Service.)

The Helpline provides advice, information and support for anybody aged 11+ who has had an unwanted sexual experience as well as to friends, partners, family and professionals. The phone number is confidential and will not show up on a phone bill or phone display.  They also provide Family Therapy and an advocacy and support service that networks with other agencies to ensure appropriate advice, information and practical support is provided following a sexual assault.
