Get the skills and confidence you need to face the challenges of caring – from learning how to navigate a confusing system to how to communicate effectively.

Carers UK have produced Being Heard – a self-advocacy guide for carers to help carers get their voice heard and communicate their concerns in a way that gives them the best chance of getting a positive outcome.

The guide includes sections on ‘the system’, communicating effectively and emotions and thinking.

Healthwatch Southampton

Healthwatch Southampton is a local health consumer rights group make up of individuals and community members who work together to improve local health and social care services. We provide information and advice, raise issues with decision makes and offer free NHS complaints advocacy.

First Friday of every month, 10.00am until 12.00pm, St James Park, Shirley, Southampton.

Jennifer Pillinger is an experienced solicitor who can provide expert advice in relation to a wide range of problems such as Social housing, Landlord & tenant, Court proceedings, Divorce, Residence & Contact, and Harassment.

The clinic offers a drop in service and no appointment is required, however it can be busy so arrive early to avoid disappointment and be prepared to wait.
